Welcome Welcome to Kitchen Belleicious! I am beyond excited about today because yours truly is the featured blogger for SITS, which stands for the Secret is in the Sauce and today is the last recipe to post for Bake for the Cure! Let’s go back-How cute is the SITS name? It fits right in with this foodie lover because any cook wants you to like her food enough to ask for the recipe, but any cook knows to keep her “secret” a secret if she wants you coming back for more! LOL!
I am going to try and make this introduction short and sweet so bear with me! I am stay at home mom who is absolutely in love with her best friend/husband and who has been blessed with a wonderful beautiful boy. I left my corporate career last year to do what I love best and that is to be with my son each and every day and to pursue my passion or rather my obsession for COOKING! I started this journey of Kitchen Belleicious to share my joy and spread the love so to speak with all of you!
Each day my goal is to install in you all the idea that cooking doesn’t have to be a chore. It doesn’t have to be scary. FEARLESS is my new word for the kitchen and it should be yours too! The term be fearless in the kitchen means exactly that! I want you all to know that it doesn’t matter if you know how to “cook” or if you are an experienced chef. Cooking is just an expression of love and a way to create or re-create something that is YOURS. The dish doesn’t have to taste like your moms or even mine for that matter. Make the dish taste like YOURS. Recipes are just a blue print for you to use as a go-by. Just be fearless, try anything and everything with no hesitation and you will begin to find that you are one heck of a cook!
You will find that my recipes range from your classic southern dishes to a Belleicious twist on recipes that you would never think to re-create. For example, my
Mint Julep Bread Pudding or my
Crawfish Beignets. If you have young kids then head on over to my newest creation
Belleicious Kids for healthy, fun and flavorful snacks and meals that your kids will love. My motto for that blog is called, “Anything they (meaning the fast food and processed food companies) can do I can do HEALTHIER!” I mean it too. Today’s snack is Homemade Goldfish Crackers. So good that I had to make enough for my husband too!
I hope you all can sit back, grab a cup of sweet tea (I am southern of course) and stay a while. I love having you here and I hope to get to know each and every one of you! Last but not least, Breast Cancer is so close and personal to me and I have had the honor to participate in the Susan G. Komen Bake for the Cure contest. I have some pretty delish recipes for you to try so make sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think! I just LOVE hearing from you all!
BAKE FOR THE CURE
This is the last day to post a recipe for Bake for the Cure. It has been an honor and a pleasure to do this and raise support for such a wonderful cause. It really is true that every one of us knows someone who has been affected by this cancer. So many of you have commented and emailed me with your personal stories and I am grateful that you have found that trust in me. When I started this blog I wanted to share my passion for food, little did I know that I would be starting friendships with such wonderful women. Thank you all for your comments, emails and support for not only this contest but in general.
Now I couldn’t end this contest without making something truly known to the South- I am a southern blogger after all. I am curious in your comments later what food or dish you think of when you think the South? To me it is hands down crawfish etouffee. It has the signature crawfish, the signature roux, the holy trinity and a blend of spices you can only find here. It was no contest (no pun intended) of what my last recipe should be. I hope you all find as much comfort out of this dish as my family and I do. Serve it over a bed of rice and your house will truly feel like home sweet home!
Last but not least please do this girl a favor for the last time and leave a comment on this post and any other post dedicated to Bake for the Cure. This is it! I am so close to winning and I really really need your help! Tell your friends, blog about it or tweet! You can post comments until October 24th at midnight and they will announce the blog winner on that Monday and I will announce the winner of the Bake for the Cure Pink Baking Prize on Monday as well! Thanks in advance for all your help and support! I really do love you all to pieces!
